The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism have officially announced they have canceled the project which was to be built by an Istanbul investment company on a 75,000 sq mtr plot between Akbuk and Didim.
The land will now be carved up and leased or sold to local investors for other building projects.
The decision to cancel the project was made following pressure from the Didim Chamber of Commerce who clearly have the best interests of the region in mind . . . Don't they?
Did the planned golf course influence your decision to buy property in the area? Did you believe estate agents and builders hype? Do we actually want a golf course?

Golf course was probably hype, and the land will be sold to create a concrete jungle.
ReplyDeleteThat is bad news. A future golfcourse was one of the things that based our decision.
ReplyDeleteAnyone interested in arranging grouptrips to golfcourses? We are going to check out Vita Park next week.
We purchased a duplex in Akbuk 2 years ago and the golf course was a major reason for buying, not very happy to hear plans scrapped, very short sighted I think!!
ReplyDeleteVery annoyed about this decision, we bought our property on the basis that it would be a few minutes from a golf course. We should have been informed as owners and asked our opinion.
ReplyDeleteHazel and Matt Blue Seascape.
Oh well, I don't care much about Golf. Of course as an investment its better if a Golf Course is near but I never bought on the basis of that. Akbuk is the loveliest place ever with or without Golf!!!!
ReplyDeleteGuys,
ReplyDeleteI was also disapointed about the golf course issue and one of the considerations when i purchased my Villa was the possibility of a Golf Course being built.
However that has now gone away but look on the bright side Viti Park is up and running. I have played there from the day it opened as a 9 hole course and now the 18 are playable it is a very enjoyable knock with the front 9 being easier than the Back 9 and if you go over the mountains its less than an hour away. They are now doing yearly memberships as well as the lifetime ones and its not a bad deal if you are resident. I am not so i just pay and play when i am over.
The Kusadssi course has also now opened but i think that it is still 9 holes with the remaining 9 opening this year but i could be wrong on that and have not played it yet.

ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from someone who actually played Vita park. We are planning on going there 25th of April. Greenfee 39 euros (18 holes) is pretty ok we think.
Care to join?
